The Hungarian Community of Daruvar presents a unique bilingual cookbook that preserves recipes and stories about traditional Hungarian desserts.
The cookbook features 14 traditional recipes for famous Hungarian pastries, cakes, and desserts – from rich layered cakes and traditional biscuits to creamy treats that have graced holiday and festive tables for generations. Each recipe is accompanied by an original photograph and a story about its origin.
All the cakes presented in the book were prepared in the kitchens of the hardworking members of the Daruvar Hungarian Community, according to recipes that have been passed down for generations, some of which are over a hundred years old. Discover who is behind the recipes for the widely known Rigó Jancsi, the famous Esterházy cake and other Hungarian desserts that have long since conquered tables and pastry shops around the world!
And this isn’t a book launch you’ll just look at – it’ll be one to taste!
Along with the presentation of the cookbook, you can expect a dessert tasting, a special musical program with the Tenkes Zenekar, and then a dance house – Táncház. ![]()
