On the occasion of National Peacekeeping Day, which is celebrated in memory of Dr. Ivan Šreter and all killed, deceased and missing Croatian defenders, on Tuesday, August 18, a special lecture dedicated to the war events in Western Slavonia and the circumstances of the kidnapping of Dr. Ivan Šreter will be held in the Spahijski podrum.

The lecture will be given by Dr. Natko Martinić Jerčić from the Croatian Homeland War Memorial and Documentation Center, and will be held at 6:00 PM in the Julijana Spahijski podrum hall.
This lecture is an opportunity for a better understanding of the wartime circumstances in the area of Western Slavonia, but also a reminder of the life and fate of Dr. Ivan Šreter and the importance of preserving the memory of the events and people that marked our recent history.

The lecture is part of the program marking the National Peacemaking Day. The program begins at 5:00 PM with the laying of wreaths and lighting of candles at the memorial in Kukunjevac, at the site of Dr. Šreter’s kidnapping, and at his bust in Pakrac.
After the lecture, at 7:00 PM, a mass will be held in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Pakrac, and at 7:30 PM, a concert by the Sveti Mihovil klapa will be held in the same church.
